Syracuse Public Library Newsletter

The library is closing in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday on Monday, Jan. 19. A good way to keep track of events at the Syracuse Public Library is by looking at the newsletter that the library puts out each month. The newsletter is available through facebook when you follow Syracuse Public Library or as a link on the front page of the website at www.syracuse.lib.in.us . A printed copy can be picked up at at the circulation desks. The newsletter lists new and monthly meetings along with some of the newest books and movies. A complete list of several months of new movies can be viewed at the library. Read the newsletter for more complete descriptions on activities.

A Week of Blue

Young people are offered the chance to do some things that are blue with “The Fault in Ours Stars” and “Doctor Who.” The Young Adult Book Club meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 to paint and draw blue and white pictures with quotes from John Green’s book. The story is extra special because it is written by an Indiana author and is set in Indianapolis. Teens in sixth through high school are invited to talk and eat for an hour in the meeting room.

Meet the Doctor is finishing up season two at Wednesday, Jan. 21 meeting. Adults and young people who want to share and explore the BBC series are invited. Members have made up a trivia quiz about characters and happenings in season two. The evening begins at 6 p.m. and includes an episode and theme food.
