WINONA LAKE – LCA’s girls basketball team took a big step Friday night in hosting Class 3-A Culver Academy. The scoreline, however, showed the difference between the two programs. Culver Academy 64, LCA 29.

Culver Academy kept LCA’s scoring duo of Hannah Delp and Rachel Sand from reaching double digits. Sand had just eight points on four of eight shooting and pulled down seven rebounds. Delp had an off shooting night, hitting just two of 14 shots. Both makes were threes, but it took 11 tries from behind the arc to get the makes.

Carissa Urschalitz added five points and a pair of rebounds for LCA.

Culver Academy moves to 5-7 on the season and will visit Westville Saturday night while LCA falls to 5-11 overall and will host Granger Christian Tuesday evening.
