BOURBON – The Triton boys basketball team was off and running from the opening tip Monday night.
The host Trojans used a big first quarter effort en route to posting a 48-23 win over Elkhart Christian Academy.
The game had been postponed Jan. 8 due to the weather.
Triton raced to a 15-1 lead after the opening quarter Monday night. The Trojans hit 20-49 field goals in the win, while ECA finished just 8-30. Triton won its second straight, while ECA saw its three-game winning streak stopped.
Joey Corder continued his fine play to pace the Trojans. He scored a game-high 16 points to go with 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Skyler Reichert tossed in 15 points and Austin Sellers had eight for Triton.
Drew Overmyer and Austin Springer each scored six points to lead ECA.
Triton won the JV game 38-30. Zac Pitney had 12 points and Dalton Bailey 10 to lead the winners.
Triton (6-5) hosts Culver in a conference game Friday night. ECA (6-3) hosts South Bend St. Joseph Tuesday night.
