Valley Girls Noted In Coaches Poll
The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team is among those statewide receiving votes in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Poll this week.
The Vikings are 13-1 on the season. Valley has won nine in a row since losing a 56-48 decision in triple overtime to Plymouth last month.
Rochester is also among the teams receiving votes in the poll. The Zebras sit at 15-1 on the season and just had a key conference win over Whitko Saturday night.
Valley has a big pair of home games this week. Coach Chris Kindig’s talented team, led by stellar sophomore center Anne Secrest, hosts NorthWood Tuesday night and entertains Rochester Saturday night in a huge Three Rivers Conference clash.
The Vikings and NorthWood will both play in the Class 3-A Sectional at Wawasee next month. Valley is 3-0 in the TRC and Rochester is 4-0, the lone two unbeatens left in league play.
Among the area teams ranked in the top 20 are South Bend St. Joseph at No. 7, Penn at No. 9 and Glenn at No. 20.
