Warsaw Cagers No. 17 In Coaches Poll

Warsaw Sports LogoThe Warsaw boys basketball team checks in at No. 17 this week in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Poll.

The Tigers are 9-1 on the season and have won seven in a row. Their lone loss was a 60-59 setback last month at Homestead, who is rated No. 3 in this week’s statewide poll.

Warsaw plays Elkhart Central Tuesday night at North Side Gym in a non-conference match. The Tigers then have a big Northern Lakes Conference game at Goshen Friday night and another non-conference tilt on Saturday night at Fort Wayne Snider.

A pair of other area teams are among the top 20 this week. Penn, coached by Al Rhodes, checks in at No. 14 and Mishawaka Marian sits at No. 18.

Area teams receiving votes: Columbia City, South Bend St. Joseph.
