Hot Shooting Trojans Notch NSC Win
BOURBON – The Triton boys basketball team shot lights out Saturday.
The host Trojans sizzled from the field in posting a big conference win over John Glenn.
The Trojans built a big lead and then held off the Falcons 53-46 in the Northern State Conference contest.
Triton shot 18-29 from the field in the win, including 6-10 on three-point tries. Glenn was just 17-49 from the field, which included a 7-26 mark from distance.
The Trojans led 8-5 after the opening period and 26-15 at halftime. Triton stretched its lead to 35-21 after three periods of play.
Joey Corder turned in a strong all-around effort to lead Triton. He had 14 points to go with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Skyler Reicher netted 15 points and hit 4-6 from deep for the winners. Jordan Anderson had 11 points for Triton.
Drew McDonald and Jake Strong each had 11 points to lead Glenn.
Triton improves to 5-5 overall and 2-0 in the NSC. Glenn drops to 7-3 and 1-1.
Glenn won the JV game 42-37. Zac Pitney led Triton with 11 points.
Triton hosts Culver and Glenn hosts Bremen in NSC games Friday night.
