LAGRANGE – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball steam engine kept rolling on Saturday. The Lady Vikings picked up two more wins to take honors at the Lakeland Invite, beating Lakeland 64-39 and West Noble 58-42.
Valley was very impressive in the Lakeland win, putting four players in double figures in scoring. Meredith Brouyette led the cause with 15 points, all on five made threes. Brynda Krueger had one of her finer offensive games with 14 points and added three rebounds and three steals.
Caylie Teel and Anne Secrest added 13 points apiece with Secrest chipping in six rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks. Teel had four rebounds and four steals.
Taylor Yerington paced Lakeland with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Against West Noble, Secrest stepped up with 22 points, 11 boards, four assists and three steals. Secrest hit eight of her nine free throw attempts and missed just one shot from the floor in eight attempts. Brouyette added 14 points and Teel eight points and four boards.
Paige Shearer and Lexi Shepherd each scored 10 points for the West Noble cause.
In other games in the tourney, Concord defeated Lakeland 54-40 in the night’s first game and West Noble bested Concord 45-32 in the afternoon. Concord sits at 5-8 on the year, Lakeland 6-8 and West Noble 10-3.
Tippecanoe Valley, now 12-1 this season, will head to Logansport Tuesday night before jumping back into Three Rivers Conference play Thursday at Northfield.
