AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team made it back-to-back wins at home Saturday night.

The Vikings, who opened conference play Friday night by stopping Whitko 70-49, edged past Oregon-Davis 63-59.

The Bobcats, who fall to 1-6 with their fifth straight loss, came out strong. OD built a 15-7 lead after the opening quarter. Valley rallied into a 23-23 halftime tie before outscoring their guests 22-11 in the pivotal third period.

Alex Thacker tossed in a game-high 23 points for Valley.

Neil Clampitt had 20 points and Chandler O’Conner 11 for the Vikings, who improve to 4-3 on the season.

Henry Clark led OD with 21 points.

OD plays in the Caston Tournament Dec. 30-Jan. 3. Valley will return to action by hosting the Winning Edge Holiday Tournament Jan. 2-3. The Vikings open play by facing Rochester at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 2. The opener at 6 p.m. that night will feature NorthWood vs. Fairfield. The consolation and championship game will be played Jan. 3.
