Events and clubs at Nappanee Public Library this week:

Lego Club

The Nappanee Public Library Lego Club will meet next on Thursday, Dec. 18 for a special “Holiday Happenings” party! Kids ages five and up are invited to attend. Win door prizes, enjoy snacks, play games and take part in building challenges as we wrap up another year of Lego fun!

No registration is required, and parents are welcome to stay and participate. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult, and all materials will be provided.

A series of open build times is also scheduled during the WaNee winter break. Stop in at the Children’s Department from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23; Friday, Dec. 26; Tuesday, Dec. 30; and Jan. 2, to build to your heart’s content with the library’s collection of blocks.

Cookies, Cocoa, And A Movie

Kids ages five through eleven are invited to a cozy afternoon at the Library with cookies, cocoa and a movie, on Monday, Dec. 22. Decorate your own mug, fill it at a scrumptious cocoa bar, and choose from a delicious array of cookies, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Then snuggle in for a screening of The Santa Claus movie from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Registration is requested, as supplies are limited. Children under age 8 should be accompanied by an adult.

American Girls

Learn about Josephina, an American Girl of the Southwest, as you make a beautiful glass and cement stepping stone at the Nappanee Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Girls in first and second grade will meet from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and those in third, fourth and fifth will meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The American Girls Club meets once a month at the library during the school year to learn about girls in American history and share other activities such as themed parties, and community service projects. Activities are planned for girls in grades one through five.

Space is limited. Register by Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Board of Trustees Meeting

The Board of Trustees of the Nappanee Public Library will meet in regular session at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 157 North Main Street. The public is invited to attend.

Holiday Hours

The Nappanee Public Library will close at noon Wednesday, Dec. 24, and will be closed all day Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas.

Regular hours will resume with open hours from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26.

The Library will also close at noon New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 31 and will remain closed through Jan. 1. Regular hours will resume from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2.
