DECATUR – The Whitko boys basketball team came up just short Saturday night in dropping a 48-43 final at Bellmont

Nate Walpole led the Wildcats with 14 points. River West scored 11 points for Whitko.

Tanner Gaff grabbed nine rebounds and Cole Kessie had six for Whitko.

Whitko drops to 0-2 on the season, while Bellmont improves to 2-0.

Whitko hosts Central Noble and Bellmont hosts Eastside both Tuesday evening.
