LAPORTE – Wawasee continued to build in the early going of the 2014-15 wrestling season with an appearance at the LaPorte Duals Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors went 1-4 on the day in the team duals, taking a win against Hammond and losses to Lafayette Jeff, Thornton (Ill.), LaPorte and Merrillville.

Wawasee had one undefeated wrestler in performance, which was Tristin Ponsler at 5-0 in dual competition. Ponsler moved to 14-1 on the season after his showing in LaPorte.

Wawasee (2-13 overall) will head back to the Central Time Zone next Saturday in competition at the Merrillville Duals and hit the Northern Lakes Conference schedule Thursday with a trip to Goshen. Wrestling Thursday begins at 6:45 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. local time.
