AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team rode a hot start to a 63-46 win Friday night over Knox.

The Vikings bolted to a 19-7 lead after the opening period to set the tone. Valley also outscored Knox 23-10 in the third quarter to put the game away.

Alex Thacker had a huge night for coach Bill Patrick’s Vikings as he tossed in a game-high 28 points.

Neil Clampitt also had a strong effort for the winners as he netted 19 points. Alec Craig scored seven points for the Vikings.

Scott Trojan and Kooper Booker each had 10 points to lead Knox.

Valley improves to 2-1 on the season and Knox falls to 1-2.

Valley plays at Culver Academies Tuesday night. Knox plays at Culver Dec. 13.
