SOUTH WHITLEY – A big second quarter performance paced Whitko past Fort Wayne Northrop in girls basketball action Wednesday night.

The host Wildcats outscored the Bruins 14-4 in the second period en route to a 45-34 win.

Brianna Cumberland scored a game-high 17 points to lead the way for Whitko.

Hanna Yohe netted 13 points as the Wildcats snapped a two-game losing streak to even their season mark at 3-3.

Aly Reiff and Maddie Gawthrop  each had six points for the Wildcats.

Northrop drops to 0-6 on the season.

Whitko (3-3) hosts North Miami Saturday night. Northrop hosts East Noble Dec. 10.
