UPDATE: According to a report filed by the Winona Lake Police Department, at approximately 11:58 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27 Garret L. Sommers, 22, Old US 31, Rochester, was traveling on Pierceton Road when he swerved to avoid hitting an animal in the road. Sommers vehicle exited the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

Winona Lake Fire Department, with assistance from Warsaw Fire Department, extricated Sommers from the vehicle. Sommers was treated for complaints of pain to his head, arms and lower back. Damages are estimated up to $50,000.

Winona Lake Fire Department and Warsaw Fire Department, along with Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies, are responding to a one-vehicle accident on Pierceton Road, east of CR 250E. Initial report is a one-vehicle accident with entrapment.
