SOFTBALL TEAM WINS TOURNEY
A pair of strong pitching performances by Cari O’Hara and the big bats of Kelsey Dotson and Kendra Marshall helped Warsaw win its own Tiger Tourney Saturday.
The Tigers edged Peru 4-3 in game one as senior O’Hara collected  her 12th win. Marshall doubled and Kayla Snider  drove in a pair of runs and Emily Stouder one for the winners.
Dotson, the IU-bound slugging catcher for WCHS, smacked her eighth homer of the season and drove in two runs as the Tigers topped Homestead 3-1 in the championship game.
O’Hara fired a five-hitter in the circle to improve to 13-5. Marshall added an RBI in the title game.
Warsaw (15-8) plays at Concord Monday.

 

CARROLL TOPS TIGERS
The Warsaw baseball team dropped a pair to Fort Wayne Carroll Saturday, losing 7-4 and 16-1.
Shay Hepler had a double in game one for the Tigers. Jason Ferguson and Jake Speicher each had a double in the second contest.
Warsaw (10-13) hosts Concord Monday at 5 p.m.
The Tiger JV split a twin bill with DeKalb Saturday. Warsaw won the opener 9-1 behind homers from Tyler Lafollette, Caleb Heckaman and Tanner Balazs. Justin Oberlin was the winning pitcher. DeKalb took game two 14-5. Lafollette also homered in that game.
Warsaw’s JV (16-7) hosts Concord Monday at 5 p.m.
