GOSHEN SURGES PAST WARRIORS
Goshen hung a trio of big innings on Wawasee Monday night, running away with a 12-2 win in six innings in Goshen.
The Redskins (8-17, 4-9 NLC) plated four in the third, five in the fourth and three more in the sixth to complete the run-rule victory. Goshen made its opportunities count, racking up just nine hits on starter Andrew Milligan and relievers Si Shear and Jordan Currie. Wawasee committed three errors in the contest to allow Goshen to continue its march.
Jorge Pizana picked up the win, holding Wawasee to just three hits. Shear did the only damage for the Warriors (5-17, 2-11 NLC) with a two-run single in the second inning.
Aaron Voirol cracked a two-run homer in the sixth for the Wawasee JV, but it was too little, too late in a 9-4 loss to Goshen. Jordan Elliott also had a solo homer for the Warriors, now 6-13 on the year.
