Andy Dixon, 13, Syracuse, recently received an academic achievement award from Ball State University and the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University.

Dixon, a student at Canterbury School in Fort Wayne, scored among the top three percent of Hoosier middle school students taking either the ACT or SAT college entrance exam.

Dixon is in his first year of study at Canterbury School, where he transferred from Wawasee Middle School to take advantage of its greater emphasis on academics and the expectation of positive behavior from its students.  He remains active in the community through the Boy Scouts of America as a First Class Scout with Troop 12, New Paris, after achieving the Arrow of Light with Pack 3828, Syracuse.  He is a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse.

Dixon has been part of the Midwest Academic Talent Search since he was 9 years old.  He is also a People to People Student Ambassador, travelling in that role to Great Britain and France.
