The Lakeland Christian Academy softball team won its first game at Fort Wayne Wayne Saturday.
The Cougars, fielding a team for the first time since 2000,  took the second game of a twin bill 19-7 after losing the opener 22-12.
Catie Cavell had the play of the day in the opener as she had an unassisted triple play for the Cougars. Cavell also scored two runs for LCA.
Maryl Gerst went 3-3 and Jessica Goss, Julianne Haines and Victoria Flores each scored two runs.
Goss had a two-run double in game two as LCA scored seven runs on 10 hits in the fifth inning to post their first victory this season under coach Aleah Lee.
