The Warsaw boys golf team capped an impressive week Saturday by winning the Culver Military Inivtational.
Tyler Ostrom led the way as the deep and talented Tigers shot 305 to win the 18-team event held at Mystic Hills Golf Course.
Senior Ostrom, the defending state champion, shot a one-under round of 70 to earn medalist honors as the unbeaten Tigers topped runner-up NorthWood (312) by seven strokes.
Warsaw, ranked No. 7 in the latest state poll, fired a blistering 148 Thursday to beat NLC foe Wawasee at Stonehenge and won the Homestead Invitational a week ago as Ostrom was the medalist.
Junior Jon Schram shot 76 to place fourth individually, junior Tim Ahlersmeyer 79 to finish in ninth place, senior Bennett Hollar 80 and freshman Jonny Hollar 86 for the Tigers Saturday.
Triton earned a fourth-place finish with a team total of 323. Quentyn Carpenter led the Trojans with a 76. Ryan Rapp shot 78, Chandler Slone 81, Tanner Shepherd 88 and Austin Kanarr 93 for Triton, an honorable mention selection in the poll.
Wawasee finished in 11th place with a 339. Dylan Cousins led the Warriors with an 81. Derek Zurcher, Luke Jackson and Tristen Atwood each shot 86 and Maclain Herr 89.
The Warsaw JV team placed third with a 324 in the Westville Invitational Saturday. LaVille won the 15-team event with a 320. Jared Essig led the JV Tigers with a 76. Will Petro shot 80, Ryan Cultice 83, Brandon Eckert 85 and Josh Ahlersmeyer 86.
Warsaw is slated to face Plymouth and Elkhart Memorial in a makeup NLC match Monday in Plymouth.
