RAIDERS ROLL TIGERS
The Class 4-A No. 5 Northridge softball team captured at least a share of the Northern Lakes Conference title Friday night with a 13-1 win at Warsaw.
Haley Nixon improved to 19-0 in the circle for the undefeated Raiders with a two-hitter.
Kendra Marshall had a double and an RBI to lead the Tigers. Cari O’Hara took the pitching loss to drop to 11-5.
Briana O’Dell doubled and drove in two runs for the Raiders, who improved to 20-0 overall and 11-0 in NLC play. Brittany Wingard and Haley Schrock each also had two RBI for Northridge.
Warsaw, which hosts its own tourney Saturday, falls to 13-8 overall and 9-3 in league play.
NORTHRIDGE WINS ON DIAMOND
Host Northridge posted a 19-8 in over the Tigers in Northern Lakes Conference baseball action Friday in Middlebury.
Austin Franzen led the Tigers with three hits including a home run.
Warsaw (10-11, 5-7) hosts Carroll Saturday for a doubleheader at 10 a.m.
The Tiger JV topped Northridge 7-1. Tyler LaFollette homered for the winners. Winning pitcher Tanner Balazs, Ryan Marshall and Caleb Heckaman each had two hits for Warsaw. The Tigers (15-6, 9-3) play a twin bill at DeKalb Saturday at 10 a.m.
