A 44-year-old Syracuse woman was hurt in a single vehicle crash south of Millersburg on Thursday.

An Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department deputy investigated the crash that happened at 7:20 p.m. at CR 52, just east of CR 32. When emergency personnel arrived, they found Debbie Hunley inside a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had collided with a treat.

The investigation found that Hunley was westbound of CR 52  when a deer entered into the road. She said she tried to avoid the animal and ran off the north side of CR 52 and impacted a tree. She complained of pain to her right clavicle and rib cage and chest pain.

No enforcement action was taken as a result of the traffic investigation.
