MONIOT OVERPOWER DIRTBAGS
Northridge’s Austin Moniot tossed a gem at Wawasee Wednesday night in Syracuse, allowing just three hits in a 7-0 win.
Moniot surrendered just three hits in the complete game for the Raiders (15-4 overall, 9-2 Northern Lakes Conference), which kept their stronghold on the conference standings heading into the final week of play.
Wawasee (5-14, 2-9 NLC) found itself down 6-0 after the third inning, as Nate Hare took the loss, giving way to Andrew Milligan in relief.
The Raider JV used a four-spot in the sixth inning to separate from Wawasee, 8-3. Nate Prescott cracked a solo homer for the Warriors (4-12) while Jordan Elliott drove in the other two runs.

NORTHRIDGE REMAINS PERFECT IN NLC
Wawasee gave the Lady Raiders a ballgame, but Northridge kept its unbeaten season alive with a 2-1 win Wednesday in Middlebury.
Northridge (19-0, 11-0 NLC) took a 1-0 lead in the third, only for Wawasee (12-12, 6-5 NLC) to answer with an unearned run in the fourth. The home side scraped a run across in the fifth and held firm as Wawasee ran out of chances.
Haley Nixon earned her 18th win of the season in the circle, fanning nine Lady Warriors and giving up just a pair of singles to Alli Ousley and Paige Hlutke. Gabi Routson took the loss, holding ‘Ridge to just six hits, but couldn’t keep lead-off hitter Madison Schrock from picking up a pair of hits and scoring both runs.
Northridge and Wawasee combined for a slugfest in the JV game, crushing 23 hits, but a mind-numbing 14 errors from Wawasee allowed Northridge to stand tallest, 19-11.
Noelle Beck had four RBIs while Ashlynn Fisher and Sierra Hart each had triples for Wawasee, which drops to 13-4 on the season.
