WARRIOR GOLF SPLITS NLC OPENER
The Wawasee golf program entered the Northern Lakes Conference season with a split Tuesday night at Maple Crest. The Warriors shot a 166 to best Goshen’s 168, but both fell to Northridge’s 161.
Luke Jackson medaled the round with a 37, with Wawasee teammates Dylan Cousins at 41, Tristan Atwood 43 and Derek Zurcher a 45.

Northridge (179) also won against Wawasee (188) and Goshen (207) in JV scores. Chase Jacobs led the Warriors with a 43 on the undercard.
“I thought we played pretty well on a course with difficult greens and that we didn’t know that well,” said Wawasee head coach Steve Coverstone.
TENNIS’ NLC STRUGGLES CONTINUE
The Wawasee girls tennis team wrapped up its NLC round robin Tuesday night with a make-up game at Plymouth. The extra day off didn’t help Wawasee in a 5-0 loss, which capped the conference wringer that had Wawasee not win a court in any of its seven team matches.
Kelly Hoeffler, Allie Berger and Ellen Smith all rolled in singles play for Plymouth in giving up just four points against Morgan Geer, Katy Ashpole and Emily Seidner.
Marissa German and Andria Shook lost just two games in beating Karla Allen and Mia Hauser at one doubles while Emily Blake and Mikayla German won love and four against Laura Romar and Samantha Prins.
The Plymouth JV lost just four games in winning all seven JV courts.
GOSHEN ROLLS ‘C’ GAME
Goshen had no trouble scoring runs Tuesday night against Wawasee in ‘C’ team baseball, winning 11-1 at Goshen. The Warriors mustered just two hits, Will McCarthy driving in the lone Warrior run with a double.
