Tyler Ostrom and the Warsaw boys golf team dominated the field Saturday to take championship honors at the Homestead Invitational in Fort Wayne.
Ostrom, the defending state champion, toured the Orchard Ridge Country Club course by shooting a one-under round of 70 to earn individual medalist honors.
The No. 7 Tigers also got strong performance from runner-up finishers Tim Ahlersmeyer and Jon Schram, who each shot 75, to win the event. Warsaw shot 306 to finish 18 shots ahead of runner-up Northridge (324) in the 18-team field.
Ostrom also shot 70 a year ago at Orchard Ridge to win the regional there. On Saturday, he shot 37 on the front nine before firing a 33 on the back to take top honors. The senior standout finished with birdies on two of his final three holes.
Bennett Hollar and Evan Cultice each shot an 86 for the Tigers Saturday.
Jonny Hollar, Ryan Cultice and Jared Essig took the top three individual places Saturday as the Warsaw JV team won its own tournament held at Rozella Ford.
Hollar shot 76 for medalist honors, while Cultice finished at 77 and Essig at 78. Josh Ahlersmeyer shot a 85 and Brandon Eckert 88. The hosts won the tourney by 36 shots.
Warsaw faces Plymouth and Elkhart Memorial Tuesday at the Plymouth Country Club.
