No. 6 Carroll Tops Tigers

Warsaw Sports LogoFORT WAYNE – Two outstanding volleyball teams got together Wednesday night at Carroll High School.

In the end, the host Chargers came out on top.

Host Carroll, ranked No. 6 in Class 4-A, defeated Warsaw 25-21, 25-21, 25-21.

Carroll improves to 29-3 on the season, while the Tigers are now 25-5.

Senior Katie Voelz led Warsaw with 12 kills to go with seven digs and two aces.

Caroline Mayer had six kills and Jordyn Lindeman three blocks for the Tigers. Cassie Hoag had 22 assists and Peyton Adamiec seven digs.

Warsaw won the junior varsity match 25-21, 22-25, 15-11. Nikki Parrett had eight kills and Alexia Day four for Warsaw. Raina Armey had 14 digs, while Kenzie Welk had nine and Jamie Grose eight. Alicia Sikora had 19 assists and three aces and Hanna Leach and Dayton Groninger each had a block for Warsaw.

The JV Tigers are now 19-2 on the season.

The Warsaw freshman team wrapped up its season by beating Carroll 25-23, 25-21. The Tiger frosh finish their season with a 21-9 mark.

Warsaw will host its own Tiger Spiker Invitational Saturday at 10 a.m.  The varsity squad will then play Elkhart Central next Thursday in a first round match in the Class 4-A Concord Sectional.
