A local author is searching for historical photos as part of a new book about Noble County history.

Mark R. Hunter has begun work on “Images of America: Albion and Noble County”, which will be issued by Arcadia Publishing. The company is a major publisher of local history books, with over 8,500 volumes in its inventory.

The Images Of America series can be found online at: http://www.arcadiapublishing.com/series/Images-of-America

Hunter, who previously published a history of the Albion Fire Department titled “Smoky Days and Sleepless Nights”, is working on the text, but needs help with the pictures.

Good prints are needed to meet the publisher’s exacting standards; Hunter’s wife and co-author, Emily, can scan the photos, then return the originals to their owners. Photo owners will get a scanned electronic copy if they wish, as well as credit in the book.

The plan is to touch on every community in Noble County, large and small.

Any historical photo is welcome, including pictures involving early settlements and settlers, business development, churches and architecture, entertainment, special events, organizations, and schools. The Noble County Historical Society is assisting with the project.

The publication date for Images of America: Albion and Noble County will be announced later, but will probably be in late 2015 or early 2016; Images Of America books retail for $21.99.
