Moyotl Sets Race Record
WARSAW – Jose Moyotl led the way in record-setting fashion in the Warsaw Elementary Cross Country Mile.
Moyotl, a sixth grader, set a course record as the top overall finisher in a time of 5:39 in the event held at WCHS Oct. 9.
Erika Bugg was the top female finisher as the 4th grader was fourth overall in a time of 6:45. Her twin sister Emily Bugg was fifth overall in a time of 6:49.
The overall top 10 were Moyotl, followed by Tanner Stiver (6:22), Nathan Dailey (6:39), Erika Bugg, Emily Bugg, Rylee Burns (6:50), Wini Barnett (6:53), Isaiah Lara (6:57), Levi Perry (6:59) and Harrison Phipps (7:00).
Winners in age group division were Erika Bugg (girls 3rd and 4th grade), Dailey (boys 3rd and 4th grade), Barnett (girls 5th and 6th grade) and Moyotl (boys 5th and 6th grade).
A total of 53 runners competed in the annual event sponsored by the WCHS boys and girls cross country programs.
