Several regional businesses have donated mobile computer lab equipment to the North Central Indiana Small Business Development Center to aid in ongoing QuickBooks training to small businesses in the area. The donation occurred on May 2, at the Small Business Development Center in South Bend.

While Goodwill Industries made their computer lab available to the North Central Indiana SBDC for years so clients could receive hands-on instruction for learning QuickBooks. Recently Goodwill offered the use of their lab to the South Bend Community School Corporation. Due to an overwhelming response, Goodwill could no longer offer the lab to the SBDC.

Recognizing the importance of providing QuickBooks training to entrepreneurs, WKChamber, along with other regional business have partnered with the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) to allow it to create its own lab. The organizations funding the computer resources include:

  •   OrionGroup
  •   Reach360
  •   Warsaw Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce
  •   Kosciusko Economic Development Inc.
  •   Michiana Network for Entrepreneurs
  •   Insight Strategic Concepts, Inc.
  •   Tuesley Hall Konopa, LLP

With the donations of the mobile computer lab, the SBDC will have the ability to take QuickBooks training to locations across the region, including South Bend, Elkhart, Warsaw, and surrounding communities.
