GIRLS TENNIS NETS WIN
Two doubles victories carried the Warriors to a 3-2 win at West Noble Wednesday.
Karla Allen and Mia Hauser rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 for the Warriors, while Samantha Prins and Laura Gomez rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2.
Katy Ashpole posted a 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles for Wawasee.
Brooke Moser defeated Morgan Geer 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Rachel Strouse topped Samantha Klinge 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 for West Noble’s wins.
GOLFERS SUFFER FIRST LOSS
Tristen Atwood earned medalist honors with a 37, but Wawasee lost for the first time by four strokes to Tippecanoe Valley at Mill Creek Wednesday.
The Vikings shot 161, while Wawasee finished at 165.
Derek Zurcher shot 40, Dylan Cousins 42, Cole Love and Maclain Herr each 46 and Luke Jackson 50 for the Warriors (7-1).
Tanner Neeley led the winning Vikings with a 39. Teddy Shepherd and Bryce Zimpelman each shot 40, Kevin Summe 42, Josh Tucker 46 and Ben Shriver 47 for Valley.
BOYS TRACK SQUAD LOSES NLC PAIR
The Warriors completed Northern Lakes Conference regular-season action by losing to Northridge 67-65 and Elkhart Memorial 83.5-48.5 in Elkhart Wednesday.
Clayton Cook won the 110 high hurdles in a time of 15.76 and Jake Schwartz captured the shot put with a throw of 50-02 to lead Wawasee.
Second-place finishes for the Warriors (4-5, 2-5) went to Cook (100), Brandon Morris (400), Zach Cockrill (1,600), JJ Gilmer (high jump) and Schwartz (discus).
Wawasee also placed second in the 400 relay with the team of Gilmer, Josh Sumpter, Michael Pena and Cook.
