On Saturday, May 5, thousands of motorcyclists from all over the United States and Canada will participate in the Christian Motorcyclists Association 24th Annual Run for the Son. According to Jim Simpson, Road Captain for the Warsaw Chapter of the CMA, “The main purpose of the Christian Motorcyclists Association is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with motorcyclists. We do this by attending motorcycle rallies, tours, races, etc. and conducting worship services at these events whenever possible.  We also raise money for the key ministries CMA supports.”

The CMA is big.  There are over 153,000 members worldwide.  According to Jim, “We are in 31 countries and have 1158 chapters in the United States.  The Warsaw chapter is 1116 and is named the Blood Bought Bikers.”

The CMA provides funding for three large global ministries.  The “Jesus Film Project” has brought the news to over 70 million with 7 million salvations driven by CMA funding. “Open Doors” has distributed over 2 million bibles worldwide and “Missionary Ventures” has placed over 4,000 motorcycles, 6,000 bicycles, 15 horses and 14 boats to pastors working in over 90 countries.

This year the Warsaw chapter 1116 raised money by selling doughnuts and a garage sale.  The main event, however, is on Saturday, May 5, when the Warsaw chapter sponsors a motorcycle ride and meal. Interested bikers and non-riding supporters should be at the Atwood Community Building on Saturday, May 5, before 10 a.m. to get registered for the ride and meal.
