Jon Garber of Claypool won the District 4 County Council seat that was vacated by the death of
John Kinsey. A Republican caucus of eligible precinct committeemen was held Tuesday May 1.

Garber, raised in Kosciusko County, is a 1971 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and 1976 from Indiana University with a degree in political science. He returned to IU graduate school in 1977 to study public administration in parks and recreation. He served as Warsaw’s assistant superintendent of Parks and Recreation from 1977 and was appointed superintendent in 1988. He only recently retired in December 2011.
