WARSAW – Kyle Wurtzel made his NHRA racing debut in St. Louis, MO, at the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals September 26-28 at Gateway Motorsports Park.

Wurtzel, a financial planner, began racing in 2006 in a nostalgia nitro funny car.

Wurtzel’s car was the second in the Midwest to break the five-second barrier. In 2010, with the help of Bruce Litton, Kyle was able to get licensed and start his top fuel racing career.

“That weekend was a giant step forward for us. We were able to show our fans that we can compete with the best in the world,” notes Wurtzel of his debut.

After qualifying to participate in the race, Wurtzel went on to win against renowned driver, Richie Crampton. Though he lost to Steve Torrence in the next round, a win at that level was a huge success for Wurtzel.

With the help of Bruce Litton, Mike Wolfarth, Bobby and Dom Lagana, Phil Stuart, Kurtis Ruskowski, Brett Konken, Jeff Konken, Randy Heintzelman, and Tony Biffer, Wurtzel is looking forward to next season.

“As Kyle Wurtzel Racing continues to plan for the future, no one could have scripted a better start to our foundation. This opportunity was a great starting point to continue to push forward and grow stronger,” said Wurtzel.
