Rivalries will be put aside Wednesday night in an effort to join forces against a greater enemy.
Warsaw Community High School is hosting a special event, “Fight Like A Girl” – a cancer awareness benefit which sends half the proceeds to Amy’s Angels, representing Amy Hosier, a college softball player from the University of Georgia Tech stricken with cancer.
The other half of the proceeds will go to Kosciusko County cancer relief efforts.
The benefit will take place during the Warsaw-Wawasee softball game on WCHS’s campus.
Warsaw head coach Jim Speicher offered a silent auction and bake sales will surround the game, which will have both teams wearing pink jerseys and hold a ceremonial first pitch with a pink ball. First pitch will take place at 5 p.m.
All proceeds from gate receipts and concessions will go to the fund.
