WAWASEE SOFTBALL THUMPS CONCORD
Wawasee softball jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead on Concord and didn’t let up in a 10-4 win Tuesday night at the Wawasee softball complex.
The game, which was postponed to Tuesday because of Monday rain, had Wawasee score four runs in the first inning and two more in the second inning before Concord could respond. Concord cut the lead to 7-4 with a pair of runs in the sixth, but the Lady Warriors (10-10, 4-3 NLC) dropped a three-spot in the bottom of the frame to put the game out of reach.
Gabi Routson led Wawasee in both phases, cracking a pair of doubles and a homer, scoring four runs and driving in three as well as striking out nine Lady Minutemen in the circle. Madi Anderson added a homer and three RBIs and Sam Malik doubled and scored three runs for Wawasee.
Sammy Swain led Concord (8-7, 4-3 NLC) with three hits and a run batted in.
Concord’s JV held Wawasee to just two hits in a 13-2 romp.

CONCORD BLANKS WAWASEE BASEBALL
Seth Huxford threw a five-hitter in a commanding 7-0 win over the Warriors Tuesday night in a game postponed one night from a rainy Monday.
Concord cracked four doubles among its eight hits, led by a pair from Mason Eldridge. The Minutemen (8-5, 5-2 NLC) put the game away with a four-run second inning, more than enough for Huxford to pick up his third win of the season.
Si Shear and John Beer each had two hits for Wawasee (4-11, 1-6 NLC).
Wawasee used two doubles from Nate Prescott to get past Concord, 6-2, in JV baseball Tuesday night. Jordan Elliott scattered five hits in the complete game pitching effort for the Warriors.

MEMORIAL STORMS PAST WAWASEE TENNIS
Elkhart Memorial took care of business at Wawasee Tuesday afternoon, sweeping the Lady Warriors 5-0 in varsity tennis.
Bailey Denton and Taelor Grose gave up just one game in blowing past Morgan Geer love and one and Samantha Klinge love and love at one and three singles.
Shannon Gunn and Haley Stouder rolled past Karla Allen and Mia Hauser 6-1, 6-4 at one doubles while Corinn Whittaker got by Katy Ashpole four and one at two doubles. Jordan Dillman and Delaney Gilbert rallied from a 6-3 first set loss to Samantha Prins and Laura Romar to take the match 7-5, 7-5 to complete the sweep.
Memorial moved to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the NLC while Wawasee falls to 1-8 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Memorial also claimed seven of the eight JV courts to bolster its night.
