MERRILLVILLE – The doubles duo of Austin Sellers and Jared Fisher led the Triton boys tennis team Saturday in the Merrillville Invitational.

The No. 1 pair of Sellers and Fisher earned a second-place finish for the Trojans in the seven-team event.

Bethany Christian won the team title of the rain-shortened tournament with 45 points. The Trojans finished in sixth place with 21 points.

The No. 2 doubles team of Ben Waggoner and Spencer Glingle placed fourth for coach Al Peckham’s squad.

In singles action, Gavin Eads finished sixth at No. 2 for the Trojans. Alex Eib placed seventh at No. 1 and Mace Eads was seventh at No. 3 for Triton.
