Emergency personnel are currently responding to a possible gas leak near the post office in Silver Lake.

According to reports at the scene, the leak is coming from a broken pipe outside below a shutoff valve. Silver Lake Fire and Lake Township EMS are on standby currently until NIPSCO arrives on scene to turn off the gas.
