It was at about 5:30 p.m. on Friday night when the parade finally began to make its way down Market Street in downtown Warsaw, and it was a sight to behold. Warsaw police officers kicked things off with flashing lights and whirring sirens.

Following behind were the schools’ marching bands. Then the homecoming court, most of them perched on the back of convertibles, adorned in the finest formal wear. Then the floats.

The floats had interesting themes, like “Area 51,” “Kenya,” and the like – each executed in fun and interesting ways. Bringing up the rear was the WCS tiger mascot riding in a military Hummer.

For those who couldn’t make it out to the event: above we have provided the entire parade, start to finish, in a video. Enjoy the sights and sounds. The only thing you can’t get is all that candy the students threw to the crowd. (JF)

The Warsaw Community High School homecoming parade will take place at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12.

The parade will begin at the Warsaw Area Career Center parking lot, continue downtown, and return to the high school. The football game against Elkhart Memorial will take place at 7:30 p.m. Come support your Warsaw Tigers!
