Syracuse-Wawasee Trail System recently had 27 signs installed along the trail system.

The signs are directional signs and/or signs indicating which sections have been adopted by local organizations.

Pedestrian/bicycle trails now extend from the Spinks Condominiums (on the north shore of Lake Wawasee) past the old Chinese Gardens on Pickwick Road, over the main channel connecting Wawasee and Syracuse Lakes into Wawasee Village shopping areas, McConnell Ditch (next to the recycling center) through Wawasee Heights subdivision, past Wawasee High School, into the historic downtown area and Syracuse, past the public library and down to the Syracuse Community Center next to Lakeside Park.

Trails running the length of Northshore and Eastshore Drives are expected to be completed in the near future. The committee is continuing its efforts to find ways to extend trails to the south side of Lake Wawasee.
