The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently honored the retirement of Lt. Sam Whitaker and Lt. Dave Curtis from the department.  Sam Whitaker had served the sheriff’s department for 33 years holding the positions of Reserve Deputy, Deputy Sheriff, Detective Sergeant, Detective Lieutenant, and Work Release Director.

Dave Curtis had served the sheriff’s department for 30 years holding the positions of Deputy Sheriff, Road Lieutenant, Jail Commander, and Work Release Director.  Prior to his employment with K.C.S.D., Curtis had served 8 years as a patrol officer for the Warsaw Police Department.

Kosciusko County Sheriff Rocky Goshert presented Whitaker and Curtis with individual wooden laser engraved plaque as well as a department retirement identification during a ceremony held at the Kosciusko County Justice Building Tuesday with several other area law enforcement officers and county employees present.  Goshert thanked Whitaker and Curtis for their many years of service to the citizens of Kosciusko County.
