Major format changes are coming to four area radio stations on Monday, June 4.

Federated Media is flipping formats on four stations in the South Bend and Fort Wayne markets taking music off the air and plugging in sports coverage with Fox Sports Radio.

On Monday, South Bend classic rock station WAOR 95.7 will become the first all-sports station in the market. Also included in that flip is WNIL-AM 1290.

Also effective Monday, hot adult contemporary music stations named Froggy 102.7 out of Ligonier and Froggy 106.7, licensed to Hicksville, Ohio, will become all sports. Federated Media COO Brad Williams tells Radio-info.com that he believes “ … northern Indiana is a sports-hungry region.”

The format changes mean those stations will each use Fox Sports Radio content including Dan Patrick, “Loose Cannons,” “Petros & Money,” and Premiere’s Jim Rome.

In addition to format changes, the local business operations will merge into the Warsaw offices of WRSW 107.3, Willie 103.5 and ESPN 1480, which are all operated by Federated Media.
