Record high temperatures are expected across northern Indiana and southwestern lower Michigan today and Monday which has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Heat Advisory.

In Indiana, the following counties are under the advisory: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley.

Afternoon highs will reach as high as 100 degrees and humidity will put heat indexes over 100 degrees at times. If you are planning to be outside, make sure to stay hydrated. Officials also urge everyone to check on elderly neighbors.
