Gloria J. Cummins, 72, of Bourbon, Ind., passed away at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester, Ind.

Gloria was born to Raymond and Laura (Priebe) Thompson in Milwaukee, Wis., on Sept. 15, 1941. She was a graduate of Abbottsford High School, Abbottsford, Wis. Gloria married Jack Cummins on Oct. 23, 2004. He survives. 

Gloria had been a Social Service worker in Superior, Wis., and Pell City, Ala. She was raised in the Lutheran Church and she attended the Inwood United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her husband; her three children: Jennifer Viets and Laura (John) Strell, all of Chicago, Ill.; Jeffrey Viets, Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren; her stepchildren: Jack (Vicki) Cummins, Rochester, Ind.; Richard (Becky) Cummins, Freemont, Calif.; Kathy (Steve) Williams, La Porte, Ind.; Vicky Barham, Bourbon, Ind.; Gary (Terri) Cummins, Hayward, Calif.; Melanie (Jeff) Rohrer, Burkett, Ind.; 20 step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. 

Proceeding in death were her parents.

Funeral services will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon, Ind. Deaton Clemens Funeral Home is caring for the arrangements.
