The annual Milford Fest is set for Saturday in the small northern Kosciusko County town. The event is sponsored by the Milford Lions Club and local area businesses.

Milford Kiwanis Club will have a pancake breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Milford Community Building. Milford-Van Buren Township Volunteer Fire Department will have a steak sandwich sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until sold out) at the fire station.

Milford Fest chairman Tricia Gall said there will be entertainment, a car show, and free carnival rides. Pony rides will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be a variety of food, arts and crafts vendors.

There will be a cutie contest; pre-registration is required and parents’ may pick up forms at Milford Town Hall and or the library. Sign-in is from 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and the contest is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Also, a senior king and queen contest will take place; forms are available at town hall and the library. Crowning will be at 5 p.m. The king and queen contest is open to anyone 65 years of age and older.

There will be a 25-cent paddle auction from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Milford Community Building. Over 20 vendors will have items to auction. Tickets are $5 and can be bought at the door or at Bobi’s Shear Success. People can shop before the auction from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and after the auction. There will be door prizes and food. People are asked to bring three rolls of quarters or more.

A full day of family fun and activities are planned. Events begin at 10 a.m. and includes free carnival rides, which will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Community-wide garage sales will also take place all over the Milford area.

There will also be a car, motorcycle and tractor show. Registration will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., judging is at 2 p.m., and awards will be presented at 3 p.m. The entry fee is $8, which people may pay the day of the show.

There will be live entertainment taking place all day starting at 11 a.m. The featured musical act is Big Daddy Dupree and the Broke and Hungry Blues Band, who will perform from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Cub Scouts are having a public-invited pinewood derby from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of The Papers. There are three age race groupings and certificates will be given to the top racers. Cars should be built to BSA/Awana Pinewood Derby rules and winners will be determined by the fastest time. There is a $1 entrance donation fee.
