Warsaw Police are looking for a man who attacked and robbed a victim in his west side Warsaw home on Saturday night.

Rickie E. Olinger, 58, of Tippecanoe Drive, was reportedly alone at home in his apartment when a tall, black male suspect came to his door and asked for water. Olinger allowed the man to enter the apartment where the suspect then displayed a hand gun and physically attacked Olinger by punching and choking him.

The suspect then rifled through Olinger’s belongings and removed two .357 Smith and Wesson guns and a .357 Ruger revolver. He also made off with an undisclosed amount of silver and gold coins.

The suspect fled the apartment complex on foot and possibly escaped in a green vehicle, heading westbound on Old Road 30.

Warsaw Police say they recovered some articles taken from Olinger’s home along Old Road 30 near the City-County Athletic Complex within 10 minutes of the attack.

Olinger was treated and released at Kosciusko Community Hospital for head injuries.

As of this time police have not named any suspect and continue to investigate. Any information should be directed to the Warsaw PD Detective Division by calling 574-372-9540, 574-372-9535, or by calling Central Dispatch at 574-372-9511.
