Art teacher Brenda Stiver, and third-grade teacher Margie Slusser from Syracuse Elementary, teamed up and painted this rain barrel for fun and a way to give back to the community through Habitat for Humanity. This barrel is sponsored by StaceyPageOnline.com.

The Kosciusko County Habitat for Humanity fundraiser for 2012 is now in full swing.

Voting and bidding online for Rain on Kosciusko 2012 is now available. Habitat for Humanity is raising funds through online votes and donations of rain barrels. The barrels were sponsored by local businesses and painted by local artists and groups.

Voting is done with dollars and the barrel that generates the most in donations will be declared the People’s Choice award winner. Each vote is $1. The barrels are also available online through a silent auction. Each barrel has a tax value of $70 and that is the minimum bid. The amount of each winning bid over $70 is tax deductible as a donation to Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County, as is any amount done toward the voting of the barrels.
