In 2012, local Dairy Queen owner Jerry Nolin took to the roof of his Winona Lake restaurant on Miracle Treat Day and stayed there until raising $5,000 for Riley Children’s Hospital. (See related)

Now, Jerry is ready to do it again and he has even raised the bar seeking a goal of $10,000 for Riley Children’s Hospital.

Every year, Dairy Queen restaurants across the United States and Canada raise money from blizzard sales for Children’s Miracle Network. “We are hoping this year will be even bigger than previous years,” said Nolin.

Locally, customers who purchase blizzards for this great cause will help get Jerry off the roof sooner rather than later. The date for the roof sit fundraising event is Thursday, Aug. 14.
