A Plymouth man and a 10-year-old boy escaped serious injury when their car crossed the tracks in front of train.

It happened at 8:09 a.m. Tuesday at CR 600 North in Leesburg. The driver of the car, Tracy Rippy, 49, of Nutmeg Meadows Drive, Plymouth, was said to be taking the boy to school when he drove into the path of a northbound train. Both victims refused medical treatment at the scene.
