OI933372103_HeadshotL. Delores ‘Dee’ Vanator, 85, of North Webster, passed away at 4:44 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana.

She was born on May 3, 1929, in Detroit, to Walter and Bessie L. (Burgett) Dishman.

She moved to the North Webster area in 1946 from West Virginia & Kentucky and attended North Webster High School. On Jan. 28, 1950, in Columbia City, she was married to Glen A. Vanator who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, child care provider in her home from many years and formerly was a cook at Camp Adventure and Epworth Forest Youth Camps. She was a member of the North Webster Church of God, Backwater Friends Home Economics Club, American Legion Auxiliary Post 253 in North Webster and a former member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge in North Webster.

She is survived by two daughters: Janet K. Kiser, North Webster; Nancy L. Howell, North Webster; son: Gary L. Vanator, North Webster; son-in-law: Dave Rogers, Leesburg; one grandson: Zachary Rogers; two step-grandsons; seven step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter: Denise Rogers; two son-in-laws: Thomas Howell and Terry Kiser; step-grandson: Brad Kiser; two brothers: Richard and Robert Dishman.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the North Webster Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to Arthritis Foundation, Indiana Chapter, 8660 Guion Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46268. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
