
Yesterday at 3:14 p.m. Central Dispatch received a call of a man at Central Park confronting another man with a knife.
According to Kip Shuter, public information officer with Warsaw Police Department, police were called to locate a white male suspect wearing a white tank top heading toward Detroit Street, The suspect, identified as Perry Peconga, 34, of Warsaw, was located at Bixler Park where he was detained. An investigation found that the Peconga was approached by the 31-year-old adult victim near the pavilion in Central Park. The victim was reportedly upset because of a relationship between the suspect and the victim’s girlfriend.
According to Shuter, the two argued and Peconga pulled out a folding razor box style and threatened the victim. The victim reportedly asked what Peconga was going to do with the knife and, after a few seconds, Peconga folded the knife up and replaced it in his bag and walked away.
Peconga was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a level 5 felony intimidation charge. He was given a $4,000 surety bond.
