Berl Greene, 79, formerly of Warsaw and Pierceton areas, passed away at 1:49 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at his Ridgeville Corners, Ohio residence.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1935, in Prestonburg, Ky., to James Greene and Girley (Music) Greene. He was married to Jane Kryder on Oct. 17, 1987, in Fort Wayne.

He worked as a maintenance supervisor at B.F. Goodrich for 23 years. Berl retired in 1991. He attended Pettisville Missionary Church, Pettisville, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife; two sons: Dean (Geretta) Greene, Leesburg; James (Leslie) Greene, Bristol, Ill.; three step-sons: Michael (Kathy) Wachtmann, Rochester; Daniel (Deb) Wachtmann, Napoleon, Ohio; Jeff (Jonel) Wachtmann, Tumwater, Washington; two step-daughters: Lori Wachtmann, Fort Wayne; Susan (Jeff) Benson, Napoleon, Ohio; three grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; six brothers: James E. (Betty) Greene, Newport; Gerald Greene, Warsaw; Tom (Virginia) Greene, Prestonsburg, Ky.; Julian (Penny) Greene, Prestonsburg; Floyd (Betty) Greene, Prestonsburg; Harold (Janet) Greene, Prestonsburg; four sisters: Wanda Hamilton, Somerset, Ky.; Pat (Dick) Sampson, Auburn, Ala.; Regina (Don) Fry, Warsaw; Phyllis Hackworth, Chicopee, Mass.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Juanita Meadows.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Private family funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, with Pastor Kent Norr of Pettisville Missionary Church officiating. Burial will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, in Pierceton.
